Companions of the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH]
In honor of great company of the Messenger of Allah; there came many Hadith and stories to prove how high ranking this companionship, of the Prophet [PPBUH], is in the religion. So when we say the name "Sahabi", it is already a rank and need no more classification, and this rank was given to any companion of the Messenger of Allah. It is even far beyond that, if you go back to the books of the basis of the religion, you would find out that not only companions had a high rank in religion, but also those who accompanied these companions had high ranking, and were named followers. Followeres are those who came after the death of the Messenger of Allah but witnessed the companions [AAT]. As for those who did not witness the companions, but have rather witnessed the followers; they were also given a high rank in religion, and were named the followers of the followers. So it is a great honor and a high rank to have seen those who have seen a companion. Yet, and surprisingly, we may see today someone who is insulting and criticizing the companions themselves, ignoring what they have done in Islam and their strive and support to the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] on his mission. And I wonder how would they meet the Prophet [PPBUH] on the judgment day? Did not they hear what Allah said: [Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, compassionate amongst themselves. You wilt see them bowing and falling prostrate, seeking Grace from Allah and acceptance. On their faces are their marks from the trace of prostration. This is their similitude in the Tawrah; and their similitude in the Injeel [Gospel] is: like seed-produce which sends forth its shoot, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it rises firmly upon its stalks, delighting the sowers. that He may enrage the unbelievers with them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great reward] al-Fath 48:29. Imams of the interpreters agreed that those involved in this verse are the companions of the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH], and they named the four caliphs in particular (Abo-Bakr as-Siddiq, Omar ibn Khattab, Osman ibn Affan, and Ali ibn Abo-Taleb) [AAT] all. Many other verses talk about them; companions. As they were the first to believe in the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] and followed his guidance; therefore, they [AAT] were given a high rank that cannot be reached through much of fasting, praying, or Zakat. The Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] said (Do not insult my companions, as if if any of you was to spend in charity a quantity of gold equal to the size of the mountain Uhud, you would not reach as high as any of them or even half of it). al-Bukary, Muslim, Ibn Magah, at-Turmuzy, Abo-Dawoud, and an-Nisa'i. Al Barra’ said “Don’t insult the companions of the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH], I swear to Who have my soul that a companion's standing with the Mesenger of Allah [PPBUH] is much better than any of your work for a life time”. The same was narrated by Abdullah ibn Masoud [AAH]. So it is clear to us from this Hadith that sitting with the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] and looking at his noble face is better for anyone than this whole world. The Holly Hadith also shows us that the companions of the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] did not happened by chance; rather, they were selected and well chosen for him by Allah Almighty. Owiem ibn Saadah narrated that the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] said (Allah chose me and chose companions for me. He made me from them sons in laws, Ansar [supporters], and ministers. So whoever insults them is cursed by Allah, angels, and all people. And Allah will not accept from him any of his work on the day of resurrection). Abo-Na'im, as-Seyouty, and at-Tabrany. As it is obligatory for every Muslim to have deep faith in the love of the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] and his family, it is also obligatory for him to have deep faith in the love of his companions, denying bad thing about them, and believing in them to have all the good things. O, Allah, fasten our hearts on this case until the day we see Your face, and may Allah's prayers and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his companions.

Once the Messenger [PPBUH] was sitting among his companions, when a orphan young man came complaining to him. The young man said: "O, Messenger of Allah, I was making a fence around my garden, when I was objected by a palm tree. The palm was may neighbor's, so I asked him to leave it to me in order for the fence to be straight, but he refused. I asked him to sell it to me but he also refused". The Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] asked them to bring him this neighbor. When the neighbor came to the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH], the Messenger told him that young man's complaint. The man confirmed the young man's complaint. So the Messenger [PPBUH] asked him to leave the palm for the young man or sell it to him, but the man refused. The Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] repeated and said (Sell him the palm and you will have, in paradise, a palm that a rider would walk in its shadow for a hundred years). The companions were astonished from this very much tempting offer, as who would go to hell while having a palm like this one in paradise!! And what is the value of any palm in this world against a palm in paradise? Yet the man refused again out of greed for the pleasures of this world. One of the companions of the Messenger [PPBUH], named Abo-Eddehdah, interfered. He said to the Honorable Messenger [PPBUH]: "O, Messenger of Allah, If I buy this palm and leave it to the young man, will I have a palm in paradise"? The Messenger answered him (Yes). Abo-Eddehdah said the man: "Hay, you, do you know my garden"? The man said "Yes". As who would not know Abo-Eddehdah's garden, the one with the 600 palm trees, high palace, sweet water well, and high fence around it. All the traders of Madina craved after Abo-Eddehdah's dates because of its high quality. Abo-Eddehdah said to the man: Sell me your palm for my garden, my palace, my well, and my wall. The man looked at the Messenger [PPBUH] unbelieving of what he heard. Is it possible to trade one palm tree for all 600 palm trees of Abo-Eddehdah, what an excellent bargain. The man accepted and the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] and his companions witnessed the deal, and the deal was closed. Abo-Eddehdah looked happily to the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] and said: Do I have a palm in paradise, O, Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] said (No). Abo-Eddehdah was shocked at the answer of the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH]. The Messenger of Allah then continued (Allah offered a palm for a palm. But you raised the bedding, against the generosity of Allah, with your whole garden. Allah called your generosity, as He is the Most-Generous, the Most-Giving, by giving you, in paradise, gardens palm trees, so many I cannot count). Then the Generous Messenger said (What a many Medah for Abo-Eddehdah)! Medah is the Palms that are filled heavy with its dates. The Messenger kept repeating this sentence more than once until all companions wondered of the many palms that the Messenger was describing for Abo-Eddehdah. Everyone wished that he would do like Abo-Eddehdah. When Abo-Eddehdah went back to his wife, he asked her out of the house and said to her: I have sold the garden, the palace, the well, and the wall. The wife looked happy as she knows the expertise of her husband in trade. Then she asked him for the price. He said: I sold them for a palm in paradise that a rider would walk in its shadow for a hundred years. She said with joy: A wining deal Ab-Eddehdah, a wining deal.
